Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough client evaluations and develop individualized therapy strategies based on the latest evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions to individuals, families, and groups, utilizing various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
  • Collaborate with other professionals on a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and cohesive client care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation that adheres to the legal and ethical standards set forth in the field.
  • Participate in ongoing workshops and training programs to stay current with mental health research and innovative treatment techniques.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Unity Point, you will work primarily with a wide array of patients experiencing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your work will directly impact their recovery and overall quality of life. By providing evidence-based interventions, you will be integral in shaping client interactions and treatment outcomes within our supportive outpatient framework.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted license to practice as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas.
  • A minimum of two years of counseling experience, preferably within a clinical setting.
  • A strong understanding of legal and ethical standards guiding counseling practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse clientele.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and related digital technologies.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma, or substance misuse is highly desirable.
  • Experience with telehealth platforms to accommodate remote patient sessions.
