Electric Power Engineers is hiring a Sr. Business Development Manager to help expand partnerships across the MISO region.

The Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and growing relationships with new target customers and established key accounts within the territory. They will collaborate with the business development team, lines of business, and internal teams to develop and implement sales strategies and whitespace and account management plans.

This individual will possess strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills and is able to understand complex commercial data, including financial, market and competitive, and the impacts new policies, technologies, and market conditions have on their current clients. Their primary responsibility is growing sales among their assigned clients.


How you can make an impact:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and an advocate for EPE, ensuring relationships are deepened, challenges are addressed, and opportunities are realized.
  • Develop and grow strategic utility and energy client relationship in the MISO region.
  • Hunter role focused on identifying and winning new business opportunities aligned with our engineering consulting services and grid modernizations trends.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities by aligning EPEโ€™s services with customer priorities and industry trends.
  • Build and strengthen executive-level relationships with client decision-makers to influence long-term partnerships and growth strategies.
  • Drive regional expansion by identifying white space opportunities and proactively cross-selling services across business lines and customer organizations.
  • Partner with Line of Business leaders and the BD Director to ensure growth strategies are aligned with company priorities and market opportunities.
  • Lead strategic account planning, including forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue tracking to ensure ambitious growth targets are met.
  • Represent EPE at industry events, executive forums, and key client engagements to enhance visibility and build new relationships.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Proposal teams to shape solutions, position services competitively, and maximize win rates on proposals and RFPs.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans that expand revenue across new and existing accounts.
  • Conduct executive-level Customer Business Reviews to showcase value delivered and establish a roadmap for future growth.

Bring your passion, here whatโ€™s needed:

  • 5+ years of professional sales experience in the energy industry working directly with utilities
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; preferred in Electrical Engineering
  • Technical knowledge of the electric utilities industry and account management principles
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRMs
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation

  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent skills in relationship building, communication, and Sales Presentations using PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well independently and build relationships with other departments to accomplish objectives
  • Strong time management, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Flexible with the ability to manage change and meet deadline
  • Attention to detail and has high standards on producing quality work
