Job Description:

As a Tax Manager, you will provide tax consulting, planning, and compliance services to a diverse client base within the real estate and construction industries. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate complex tax matters, identify planning opportunities, and achieve their business objectives. You will work closely with clients and engagement teams to deliver high-quality service while contributing to the growth and success of the practice.

This position offers the opportunity to develop meaningful client relationships, lead multiple engagements, mentor team members, and play a key role in delivering strategic tax solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing an exceptional client experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tax consulting, planning, and compliance services to clients in the real estate and construction industries.

  • Perform tax research and analysis to address complex client issues and identify tax-saving opportunities.

  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies tailored to clients' business objectives.

  • Manage and review tax calculations, returns, and related work products to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships through responsive and proactive service.

  • Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.

  • Collaborate with engagement teams to identify, address, and resolve client challenges.

  • Anticipate client needs and provide strategic guidance on emerging tax issues and opportunities.

  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

  • Contribute to practice growth through business development efforts and the expansion of existing client relationships.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation, LLM, or related advanced degree preferred.

  • CPA license required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting tax experience, with a focus on real estate and construction clients.

  • Experience with real estate partnership taxation strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success managing client relationships and leading tax engagements.

  • Strong technical tax knowledge, including tax research and planning.

  • Proven ability to identify and resolve complex client issues while delivering practical solutions.

  • Experience developing and expanding client relationships.

  • Strong leadership, project management, and staff development skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members at all levels.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This role follows a hybrid work model for candidates located near a Crowe office. Candidates who are not within commuting distance of a Crowe office may be considered for a remote work arrangement, subject to business needs.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,500.00 - $195,400.00 per year. This role follows a hybrid work model for candidates located near a Crowe office. Candidates who are not within commuting distance of a Crowe office may be considered for a remote work arrangement, subject to business needs.
