Job description

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Location: Perkasie, PA

Job Type: Full-Time | School-Year Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students with behavioral, social, and educational needs in a school setting. The RBT will work under the supervision of the Supervisor of Special Education, Building Principal, and designated behavioral support staff to implement behavior intervention plans and promote positive student outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct one-on-one and small-group behavioral support to students.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies as directed.
  • Collect and maintain accurate behavioral data and progress notes.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, communication, and self-regulation skills.
  • Assist teachers and staff in managing challenging behaviors and implementing classroom behavior supports.
  • Reinforce positive behaviors and promote student independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, therapists, and families to support student success.
  • Assist students throughout the school day, including transitions, classroom activities, lunch, recess, and specials.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school, district, and professional ethical standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification or have successfully passed the RBT certification requirements.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working with students exhibiting behavioral challenges required.
  • Experience in a school, special education, behavioral health, or ABA setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and behavior management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
