Job description

Our client is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure that products, materials, and manufacturing processes meet established quality standards and customer expectations. This role oversees quality control activities on the production floor, monitors key quality metrics, leads root‑cause investigations, and drives corrective actions to improve yield, reduce defects, and enhance overall product performance.

The QA Engineer works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

Responsibilities:

Production Quality & FPY Monitoring

  • Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) and other quality KPIs daily.
  • Oversee quality control stages throughout the production line.
  • Support QC inspectors and provide guidance on inspection methods.
  • Ensure inspection processes are effective and aligned with quality standards.

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions

  • Track and close corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze quality trends and develop solutions to reduce defects.
  • Lead structured problem‑solving activities (8D, CAPA, RCA)
  • Investigate manufacturing defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare quality reports and present findings to cross‑functional teams.
  • Monitor yield rates across production lines and recommend improvements.
  • Use statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) to analyze process data and identify trends.

Engineering Collaboration

  • Update and maintain PFMEA and control‑plan documentation.
  • Work with design and product engineering teams to ensure manufacturability.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.

Customer Quality Support

  • Respond to customer quality issues and support timely resolution.
  • Participate in customer reviews and provide quality documentation as needed.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Proficiency with Minitab and quality management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project‑management skills.
  • Hands‑on experience with PFMEA, 8D, CAPA, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years leading engineers or technicians, or managing cross‑functional quality initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or product engineering within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) certification.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with SMT or Failure Analysis (FA) processes.

Working Conditions:
