Description

Summary/Objective:

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the day-to-day needs of residents, with the oversight of the Facility Administrator, in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations, and to assure the highest degree of personal care and quality of life will be received by all residents. The Resident Services Coordinator will exercise independent judgment with regard to resident care and staff management.

Essential Functions:

Ensuring quality of care and safety of residents is top priority at all times.

Manage team to carry out quality resident care at the facility. Provide fair, consistent supervision by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, coaching staff, and addressing concerns or conflicts promptly.

Enforce company policies through timely corrective action and progressive discipline, ensuring all actions are documented per company standards.

Orients and supervises training of new QMAPs and/or PCP

Aware of resident medical appointments and transportation needs

May be called upon to assume the Administrator role on a temporary basis if needed.

Participate in quality management program of the facility.

Report any building or resident problems to the Administrator as soon as possible.

Assist in marketing facility as directed by Administrator.

Ensure that sufficient staff members are available for each shift. Arrange substitute staff as needed. May be required to cover shifts

Develop and deliver work assignments to care team and follow up on outcomes prior to the end of each shift.

Ensure residents' rights are upheld and respected.

Observe staff performance in the areas of infection control and safety; provide coaching and counseling if needed.

Supervise and evaluate resident care, ensuring all care staff follow direct care procedures, care plans, licensed provider's orders and best practices.

Evaluate room cleanliness, resident condition and safety, and implement appropriate interventions.

Communicate with physicians, diagnostic services, hospitals and families as needed.

Monitor and reorder medications as necessary to fulfill licensed provider's orders .

Complete incident reports in Alis.

Administer and document medications accurately and in a timely manner, including taking necessary vital signs prior to dispensing medications when ordered by licensed provider or otherwise appropriate.

Review medication administration records for accuracy. Conduct intermittent assessments of all medication administration tasks and administer staff assessments

Complete resident evaluations on admission and then annually thereafter; also, when a resident experiences a change in condition.

Maintain a safe and sanitary environment, including following safety and fire procedures, infection control and universal precaution policies and procedures.

Attend/Facilitate departmental and staff meetings.

Supervise QMAP staff members to ensure medication administration policies are followed. Monitor safe handling and use of equipment and report needs for replacement equipment to Administrator.

Stock and clean medication storage containers and keep medication room clean and orderly.

Complete other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Work Environment:

Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. comfortably

Comfortable using and climbing on ladders and step stools

Certain activities may require repetitive movements including climbing, crawling, crouching, pulling, pushing

Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays. May be called during off hours to respond to emergency or unusual situations.

May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, condition including HIV, and Hepatitis B viruses

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience as a Wellness Coordinator or Resident Services Coordinator in a healthcare environment

Current Colorado QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person)

Experience working with an elderly population preferred.

Read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook

Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver's License High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of two years' work experience as a Wellness Coordinator or Resident Services Coordinator in a healthcare environment Minimum of two years' current work experience as a Colorado QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person) Prior supervisory experience in health care Must be at least 21 years of age Current Flu shot Current CPR TB
Expected Hours of Work for RSC Position:

This role is considered full-time and works 40 hours per week during scheduled shifts (or more) as needed.
