Job description

Role Summary:
As a QA Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, and execution of quality control programs and procedures for manufactured products. This position translates customer specifications and industry standards into product and process criteria, inspection plans, and control plans. You will address day-to-day product-quality issues within the manufacturing plant, at customer sites, and with supplier facilities.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
  • Coordinate with production to plan and execute inbound, in-process, and final-product checks
  • Translate customer specifications, engineering drawings, and standards into product and process-quality requirements
  • Support corrective-action activities, including nonconformance reports, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action verification
  • Participate in supplier quality activities, including supplier corrective actions, quality testing, and audits
  • Monitor quality and supplier KPIs; analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support Material Review Board activities and disposition of nonconforming material
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) events
  • Manage customer witness inspections and coordinate required quality documentation
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, suppliers, and other departments to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable quality-system requirements

Preferred Experience / Skills:
  • BS or BA degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field and 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, product quality, supplier quality, or quality engineering supporting physical products
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, audits, GD&T, engineering drawings, inspection plans, and critical characteristics
  • Experience with CAPA, NCRs, MRB, supplier corrective actions, control plans, PPAP, PFMEA, or DFMEA
  • Experience using root-cause tools such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, 8D, and Pareto analysis
  • Strong data-analysis and reporting skills; Minitab or similar statistical tools preferred
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
