SUPERVISOR – QUALITY CONTROL

(Part 21 – Aviation Manufacturing)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to oversee inspection and quality control operations within our Part 21 aviation manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring all products, components, and documentation comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and approved data prior to issuance of airworthiness approvals.

Reports To: Director of Quality

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Quality Control Inspectors.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 21 regulations and company-approved Quality Manual procedures.
  • Oversee inspection of manufactured aircraft components, assemblies, and articles to verify conformity to approved data (drawings, specifications, STCs, PMAs, etc.)
  • Review and approval of manufacturing records, inspection reports, and airworthiness documentation.
  • Support conformity inspections and certification activities.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Production to resolve non-conformances and technical discrepancies.
  • Ensure calibration control and tooling compliance programs are maintained.
  • Support FAA audits, designee activities, and customer audits.
  • Maintain inspection training programs and qualification records for QC personnel.
  • Promote compliance, accountability, and a strong safety culture.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of aviation quality control experience, preferably within a Part 21 manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, particularly Part 21 certification and conformity requirements.
  • Experience with airworthiness approval processes and regulatory documentation.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical data packages, and certification requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with quality documentation and ERP/MRP systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A&P License
  • Experience with PMA, STC, or TC projects.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or aerospace manufacturing quality standards.
