Agropur is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join its team in Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil.

The Quality Control Manager plans, manages and oversees all activities of the QC Department. Makes sure that standards and procedures are followed, and that hygiene and health requirements are met to ensure that all products meet the established standards. Coordinates activities surrounding government and third-party audits and inspections. Manages governance of consumer and customer complaints. Is responsible for maintaining the plant's HACCP Program, SQF Certification Food Fraud and Food Defense Programs.

  • Salary Scale 006: $100,900 to $126,100 (Base salary will be determined according to your academic background, experience, training, and positionrelated competencies.)

Your role in achieving results:

  • Plans, directs, and controls activities related to their department (e.g., equipment and production site maintenance, laboratory supervision).
  • Work closely together with Corporate Quality on implementation, compliance and maintenance of Quality Systems and programs/procedures.
  • Verifies production steps, ensures the quality of product composition at various stages of operations, and recommends necessary changes to meet standards.
  • Maintains quality control standards and procedures manuals to ensure compliance with food quality, health, and safety requirements.
  • Determine the Quality Assurance and sanitation programs to be implemented in the Plant and support the Production Manager, Warehouse Manager and Supervisors to implement them.
  • Assists and participates in inspections by both levels of government, the company, and Agropur's technical department, follows up on various recommendations, and ensures follow-up. Clients and external auditors of the quality system. Acts as a support auditor for Agropur, suppliers, and external warehousing services.
  • Acts as an SQF practitioner.
  • Collaborates with the corporate quality assurance department to update the quality assurance manual.
  • Responsible for al employee/crew training on Quality issues including GMP, HACCP and SQF
  • Supervises the activities and performance of the Quality Control Supervisor/HACCP Coordinator OR Quality Assurance Specialist.

What we are looking for to deliver these results:

  • Bachelor's degree in food science and technology or another relevant field required.
  • 7-10 years of experience managing quality systems within the food industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of the HACCP, CFIA & GFSI/SQF.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English. (English is required to collaborate with colleagues located in other Canadian provinces.)
