Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift
Salary: $115,000–$120,000 annually, based on experience

Join Our Team as an RN Infection Preventionist!

Cypress Garden Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Preventionist to join our clinical leadership team. In this essential role, you will oversee the facility's Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a safe and healthy environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the facility's Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Program.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention policies and procedures.
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of healthcare-associated infections and analyze infection trends.
  • Investigate outbreaks and implement appropriate interventions to reduce transmission.
  • Educate and train staff on infection prevention practices, standard precautions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with infection control protocols through audits and observations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings and resident care conferences.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and infection surveillance records.
  • Serve as the facility's liaison with local and state public health agencies regarding reportable diseases and outbreaks.
  • Stay current on CDC, CMS, and New York State Department of Health infection prevention guidelines and ensure facility compliance.
Qualifications
  • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Infection Prevention Certification (CIC) or Infection Preventionist certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing home or skilled nursing facility experience required.
  • Previous experience in infection prevention or quality assurance is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to educate staff, monitor compliance, and lead infection prevention initiatives.
