JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

This position is responsible for management of the Power Delivery Vegetation Field Operations and support programs which focuses on safe operations, the management of contracts, and monitoring and reporting monthly spend. The position will be responsible for distribution and transmission vegetation management operational oversight, including the management of contractors, supervision and operations coordinators for a two State area. Primary focus will be on safety, spending, daily operations and implementing new technology. This position will work to support operations and multiple vendors with an approximate total of 1,700 crew members on Entergy property. Position will work directly with jurisdictional leadership and Sr. Manager of Vegetation to oversee all Veg operations.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide operational support and direction for both Transmission and Distribution vegetation operations.
  • Provide leadership and execution of all related safety initiatives. Own safety events including presentation to PRG, creation of CAs, EARs, and EFRs, and implementation of all corrective actions.
  • Manage relationship with Entergy Vegetation Suppliers in assigned areas.
  • Lead Jurisdiction vegetation annual storm response (~$44M annually) when no CIPT or ACES activated.
  • Lead and own all Vegetation spend to ensure meeting jurisdictional and project financial targets.
  • Manage cycle trim and Capital projects with cost and schedule certainty; manages and controls costs; manages risk by identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Partner with Operations (T&D) to manage reliability and jurisdictional targets.
  • Work directly with all jurisdictional Regulatory bodies to build business case to acquire funding for Vegetation work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field required.

Minimum experience required of the position

10 years professional experience and 5 years leadership experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Advanced leadership skills to build and motivate assigned matrix-ed teams to successfully plan and execute the capital construction portfolio of projects concurrently with vegetation management program execution.
  • Excellent organizational & planning skills to manage complex program and program issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills to work with project teams, middle and upper level management, executives, and external project stakeholders including local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to rules and regulations regarding FAA, Corps of Engineers and other regulatory agencies.
  • Industry financial and budget management experience required
  • General understanding Financing FASB, GAP, FERC and related jurisdictional regulatory requirements for vegetation
  • Contract administration experience required

Preffered Requirements

  • Regulatory experience with FERC/NERC, State Utility Regulatory Commissions
  • Experience with remote sensing technology, AI modeling, and machine learning
