Job description

Zachry Group has an exciting opportunity for a Project Accounting Administrator. The main focus of the Project Accounting Administrator will be to lead a group of employees with payroll/accounts payable/billings to ensure timely and accurate payments to employees and vendors and monitor receivables while also helping to improve and automate our current processes and procedures. Effective interaction with other departments, employees and vendors is essential for this position. Should be motivated as well and have strong problem solving, communication and people skills. 

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED 
Minimum 3 years of related experience 
Values ethics, professionalism, and maintains confidentiality 
Computer software experience: Microsoft Windows PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. 
Strong Interpersonal skills 
Strong Oral and Written Communication and presentation skills 
Ability to problem solve and use of critical thinking skills 

Candidate must have experience with payroll practices, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), billing processes, Excel spreadsheets, and contract administration. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced office environment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field 
3-5 years of related experience 

 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
Required to communicate in person, via telephone, and email. Use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely. Occasionally may adhere to extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking. 
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work will be performed in a general office environment located on the jobsite. This is not a remote position. The role requires the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced work environment. Employees must possess vision (corrected or uncorrected) sufficient for clear visibility. Noise levels are typically low to moderate.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Review A/P employees work for correctness and accuracy prior to payment.  
Manage multiple projects, A/P and payroll employees simultaneously.  
Ensure all vendor inquiries and payments are being handled in a timely manner. 
Complete monthly accruals for financial accounting department.  
Communicate and work to resolve issues with vendors and field project staff that may arise.  
Conduct monthly closing processes, journal entries and financial reporting.  
Assist with internal and external audits.  
Create reports and spreadsheets for management upon request.  
Review executed contracts/agreements for payables requirements and provide feedback where needed.  
Assist in training and development of employees
