The Project Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the financial management and accounting processes related to TAIT's projects and contracts. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Operations, Procurement, and Executive Leadership to ensure accurate project financial reporting, timely billing, cost control, revenue recognition, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The Project Accounting Manager will oversee project accountants and drive continuous improvement in project accounting processes and reporting.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the monthly project accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of project costs, revenue recognition, accruals, and reconciliations while coordinating with operational and finance teams to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Identify and implement improvements to project accounting procedures, financial controls, and financial reporting processes by driving best practices, supporting ERP system enhancements, and leading process automation initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and company policies while maintaining compliance with audit requirements
  • Monitor project performance, including revenue, costs, gross margin, cash flow, and forecasted profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Accountants by establishing performance goals, fostering accountability and collaboration, driving continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Support project teams and project accountants with financial guidance and decision-making.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, CMA or MBA Preferred
  • 10+ years progressive accounting or finance experience with 7+ years supervisory or management experience
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in project accounting, particularly in the area of revenue recognition.
  • Proven and demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
