Position Overview
  • We are seeking anexperienced Accounting Project Manager to lead a large-scale, multi-phaseaccounting project supporting financial operations within a highlyregulated utility environment. This role will oversee complex accountingwork related to capital project accounting, project lifecycle tracking,and system optimization across our electric transmission anddistribution operations.
  • The ideal candidate hasextensive accounting expertise, is a fast learner who can communicateefficiently with senior-level leadership, and proven success managinglarge projects involving Accounting, Finance, and Data Analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership &Execution
  • Lead planning, execution, anddelivery of a major accounting project impacting utility financialoperations, cost recovery, and reporting.
  • Define project scope,milestones, resource needs, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with leadership toensure alignment with corporate strategy and business expectations.
  • Develop executivepresentations, project dashboards, and progress reports for leadershipteam.
  • Utility Accounting &Financial Expertise

  • Oversee updates to accountingprocesses related to:
  • Capital project and workorder accounting
  • Transmission and distributionasset accounting
  • AFUDC/CIAC processes
  • Revenue recognition andbilling adjustments
  • Mastery of Excel required
  • Ensure all projectdeliverables adhere to GAAP and internal audit standards.

Requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree inAccounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 5-10+ years of accountingexperience, ideally within utilities or capital-intensive industries andproject management experience.
  • Demonstrated experiencemanaging large-scale accounting, finance, or ERP/system projects.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, FERCaccounting, internal controls, and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong analytical abilitiesand proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent communication andstakeholder management skills.

Preferred
  • Experience in the electricutility sector or highly regulated environments.
  • Background with capitalproject accounting, work order management, or asset accounting.
  • Advanced Excel and datamodeling skills.
  • Effective Communications,well organized and ability to multitask
  • CPA, CMA, PMP, or relatedcertifications.
