Express Employment Professionals in Lynchburg is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager for one of its well-established clients in the Lynchburg area. This position will lead the design and development of electrical systems for industrial automation and material-handling equipment while overseeing engineering projects and supporting a technical team. Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

  • 7 to 10+ years of electrical engineering experience

  • 3 to 5+ years of engineering leadership or management experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation

  • Experience creating and reviewing electrical schematics, control drawings, panel layouts, and power distribution systems

  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, UL, OSHA, and applicable electrical safety standards

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software

  • Strong leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with conveyor systems, material handling, manufacturing, or warehouse automation preferred

  • Professional Engineer license is a plus but not required

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor electrical engineers, controls engineers, and designers

  • Oversee electrical design for industrial automation and material-handling systems

  • Review and approve schematics, panel layouts, control drawings, and related documents

  • Ensure designs meet safety codes, project specifications, and customer requirements

  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, project management, installation, and startup teams

  • Provide technical support during system integration, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting

  • Manage engineering resources and priorities across multiple projects

  • Participate in customer meetings and recommend improvements to system reliability and performance

Pay and Schedule

$120,000 to $160,000 annually, based on experience.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
