Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Program Management Director. This position could be located at one of the following AECOM locations: Arlington, VA, Baltimore, MD, Germantown, MD, Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manages large to very large size programs which have high levels of execution complexity and significant strategic value to the firm
  • Provide the organization with strong technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery globally
  • Advocate for ethical and safe working practices
  • Drive innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation
  • Work with Global Business Lines, Regional leadership, and Market Sector Leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions to address them
  • Identify areas of high risk and pro-actively take action to positively impact program outcomes.
  • Contribute to the global learning and people development strategy for program management, including identification of talent gaps and resourcing plans
  • Assess long-term and disruptive trends in their area of expertise, proactively addressing emerging challenges and opportunities
  • Propose skill development approaches and workforce planning to deliver capabilities for the future.
  • Actively leads and supports the attraction and retention of talent within program management.
  • Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management agreement
Qualifications

Minimum: 

  • BA/BS +12 years of related infrastructure program/project-related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred:

  • Large infrastructure program or project management experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in either Washington DC,  Maryland, or Virginia
  • Experienced in defining project design requirements, managing schedules, and achieving organizational financial objectives
  • Experience in leading teams of project managers, contractors, and subcontractor
