Job description

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in product engineering, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams within a private brand, manufacturing, or global sourcing environment.

Job Summary
Drive technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and total quality across all import and private brand products by bridging sourcing, engineering, and vendor accountability. Lead a global, dual-hemisphere team dedicated to ensuring product safety, packaging optimization, and product lifecycle efficiency. Scale operational processes and evolve data systems to effectively support continuous improvement and changing business strategies.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Sets and executes the operational vision for private brand product engineering by aligning workflows, reporting structures, and performance metrics with evolving business needs.
  • Oversees end-to-end product quality in collaboration with sourcing, logistics, and customer-facing teams to systematically identify issues, reduce defects, and improve performance.
  • Drives packaging and engineering standards across global supply chains to enhance product protection, minimize damage rates, and maximize logistics efficiency.
  • Manages a distributed, dual-hemisphere team based in the U.S. and Asia, establishing standardized workflows that ensure efficiency throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Ensures absolute compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements while proactively identifying and preparing the business for upcoming regulatory shifts.
  • Partners cross-functionally with merchandising, compliance, and enterprise teams to support product strategies, foster innovation, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Scales organizational processes and modernizes quality data reporting systems to provide actionable insights that support changing business strategies.

Nature and Scope
  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience. May recommend/make decisions regarding new programs/initiatives that have significant impact to the business and carry consequences in unsuccessful endeavors.
  • Manages a larger team or multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.

Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
