General position summary:

Sr. Manager, Product Development - Final Mile Solutions provides strategic leadership in developing and delivering advanced finalmile delivery technology solutions, with a primary focus on platforms and capabilities that enable delivery execution, visibility, customer experience, and cost optimization. This role bridges business vision and technological execution, driving the end-to-end product lifecycle for finalmile initiatives and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Sr. Manager serves as the authoritative subject matter expert and liaison among transportation/delivery operations, customer experience, IT, and external partners (carriers/3PLs/technology vendors), advocating for scalable, innovative, and value-driven delivery solutions. Accountability spans from high-level strategy and solution architecture to stakeholder engagement and operational excellence across lastmile networks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Define, own, and communicate the strategic vision and roadmap for finalmile delivery capabilities (delivery execution, visibility, proof of delivery, customer communications, and returns/exception handling), ensuring alignment with enterprise transportation and customer experience objectives.
  • Lead a team and prioritize the product backlog, overseeing the development and deployment of new features, enhancements, and integrations across finalmile systems
  • Drive market and user research initiatives, maintaining a deep understanding of finalmile delivery operations, routing and capacity planning, carrier performance, delivery experience trends, automation/AI optimization, and customer needs to inform feature design and long-term strategy.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal business partners, delivery/transportation leaders, customer experience teams, and external clients, serving as the "voice of the customer" and championing user-centric design and innovation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software development, data, and infrastructure teams to translate business requirements into scalable, robust technology solutions that support lastmile execution, delivery tracking, and real-time exception management.
  • Monitor and communicate progress to stakeholders, providing executive-level updates, risk assessments, and "Go To Green" plans for critical finalmile product and implementation milestones.
  • Oversee finalmile product release planning and platform upgrades, setting stakeholder expectations for delivery timelines, operational readiness, training, and change management initiatives.
  • Partner closely with delivery operations managers and senior leadership to maintain a prioritized, value-driven product backlog and to develop robust business cases for new finalmile technology investments (routing optimization, delivery visibility, capacity, and customer communications).
  • Actively remove roadblocks and secure cross-functional support to accelerate delivery and adoption of finalmile solutions across sites, markets, and partner networks.
  • Continually analyze delivery processes, gather operational requirements, and recommend enhancements that improve on-time performance, cost per stop, capacity utilization, driver productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the Sales and Account Management teams by presenting finalmile capabilities and the delivery technology roadmap to current and prospective clients, differentiating our finalmile solution in the marketplace.

Job Skills Required:

  • Track record of delivering transformative transportation and finalmile delivery solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience in cross-functional product and technology teams, with a focus on transportation/finalmile platforms (e.g., routing & dispatch, delivery visibility, proof of delivery, and carrier/3PL integrations).
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels, including executive leadership and client C-suite.
  • Highly analytical mindset with strong business acumen and expertise in delivery process optimization, routing/capacity planning, KPI design (on-time, cost per stop, NPS/CSAT), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Deep knowledge of Agile processes and principles, and ability to instill Agile best practices in large, distributed teams.
  • Expertise in developing and interpreting customer delivery journeys, driver/dispatcher workflows, personas, and business process documentation for lastmile operations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; adept at managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
