Job description

Ellis Medicine is seeking a Per Diem Hospitalists to join our established and highly collaborative Hospital Medicine team at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians seeking flexible scheduling while practicing in a supportive, physician-friendly environment that is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.

Ellis Medicine is a leading community healthcare system serving New York’s Capital Region. Ellis Hospital is a 438-bed community and teaching hospital offering a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency medicine, cardiac care, surgery, cancer care, neuroscience, and behavioral health. Our Hospital Medicine program is supported by experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, specialty consultants, and hospital leadership committed to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical management for hospitalized adult patients
  • Perform admissions, daily patient rounds, and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Respond to clinical changes and medical emergencies as needed
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Promote high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care
Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Active New York State Medical License
  • Active DEA Registration
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to high-quality inpatient care
Compensation & Benefits
  • $150/hour for weekday shifts
  • $160/hour for weekend shifts
  • Eligible employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program
  • Professional and supportive practice environment
