The Gist… 

The Data Scientist is responsible for developing advanced analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive modeling, and data visualization solutions that support mission objectives and operational decision making. The individual works closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, architects, and application development teams to transform complex data into actionable insights and deploy scalable AI/ML solutions within cloud environments.


  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities that support business and operational objectives.
  • Design, develop, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions.
  • Develop statistical models, forecasting solutions, classification models, and advanced analytical capabilities using structured and unstructured data.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to design scalable data pipelines and support production AI/ML environments.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and analytical products that communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Perform feature engineering, model tuning, model validation, and performance monitoring activities.
  • Support AI/ML governance, model lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and provide recommendations that support program and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with application development and cloud engineering teams to integrate analytics and machine learning capabilities into enterprise applicationsSupport data quality, security, compliance, and governance requirements throughout the analytics lifecycle

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience applying statistical analysis, machine learning, predictive modeling, data mining, and advanced analytics techniques to solve complex business and operational challenges.
  • Experience utilizing Python, SQL, NumPy, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Spark/Scala, and Databricks to develop machine learning and data science solutions.
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms including PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Aurora, OpenSearch, Redis, and cloud-based data repositories.
  • Experience utilizing AWS cloud services including S3, Kinesis, Lambda, Aurora, RDS, OpenSearch, CloudWatch, and related analytics services.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations utilizing Tableau, Kibana, Splunk, and other business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience supporting production AI/ML deployments, model monitoring, model optimization, and operational analytics environments.
  • Experience working with large-scale data processing and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating within Agile, DevSecOps, and cross-functional product delivery teams.
