Veterinary Practice Operations Manager

Purradise Cat Care Inc.

Honolulu, HI • On-site

$25 - $32/hr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Job description

Are you a seasoned veterinary medical manager who loves veterinary medicine and wants to permanently escape the barking and canine chaos? If you are a manager who knows that a cat slowly blinking at you from across the room is the ultimate badge of professional approval—and you excel at orchestrating the team that cares for them—you are the exact missing piece our clinic dynamic needs.

Welcome to Purradise Cat Care, Hawaii’s premier, cat-only veterinary clinic and hospital—a peaceful sanctuary with absolutely zero barking, zero slobber, and zero canine chaos. We are fiercely devoted to keeping the tiny athletes who sprint across the house at 3:00 AM for absolutely no reason physically sound and emotionally thriving. And we’re just as dedicated to guarding our team's well-being. That is why we need a master coordinator to act as our organizational shield, support the growth and professional development of our staff, and keep our clinic firing on all cylinders.

The Mission

As our Operations Manager, you won't just juggle calendars. You will be the grounding force, the advocate for our clinical crew, and the primary architect of our daily logistics. Your focus:

  • Collaborate directly with the Hospital Administrator to execute high-impact business strategies and champion our clinic's growth.
  • Overhaul daily scheduling to maximize floor efficiency, guide patient traffic fluidly, and systematically ensure client satisfaction 100% of the time.
  • Welcome, train, and retain resilient veterinary professionals who thrive under high standards.
  • Step in to diffuse complex client situations with genuine empathy, total poise, and a protective boundary for our working medical staff.

Who You Are

Our specialty facility is moving through a very high-volume season with a lean, tight clinical crew. Consequently, we do not have the capacity for slow-paced hand-holding, micromanagement, or an extensive classroom onboarding runway. We need an experienced professional leader ready to step into our fast-moving environment.

We are a stellar match for a resourceful self-starter who can think on their feet and make decisions in real time. We will succeed together if you bring:

  • A "Read the Room" Leadership Style: You don't direct from a back office. You read the treatment floor in real time, anticipate bottlenecks, and dynamically shift staffing or patient priorities.
  • Fierce Autonomy: You are a natural fixer who resolves operational friction before anyone even spots the issue. You track down answers, design fixes, and execute confidently.
  • Total Respect for the Clinical Boundary: You recognize that our technical team operates under immense pressure. Your job is to help clear hurdles out of their way, respect their medical space, and ensure they have exactly what they need to save lives.
  • An "All Hands" Mentality: The ultimate goal is that we move as a single entity. The ideal candidate never says "that’s not my job." If the front desk is slammed or logistics require extra muscle, you jump right in to support the team.

The Baseline Requirements

  • Background: A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in veterinary practice management or human healthcare operations is required.
  • Capability: A proven history of stabilizing, organizing, and motivating medical teams.
  • Heart: A deep appreciation for cats and a strong grasp of feline-friendly handling.

The Perks

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • 401(k) retirement portfolio with employer match
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) package
  • Substantial employee discounts on veterinary care for your own pets
  • Pet insurance
  • Uniform allowance
  • Discount movie tickets to help you unwind on your days off
  • An endless supply of clinic snacks and frequent free team lunches (featuring local favorites like Thai, Indian, Chinese, pizza, and more!)

How to Apply

If you're an experienced operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced veterinary environment and believes you'd be an excellent fit for Purradise Cat Care, we'd love to hear from you.

Please submit:

  • Your current resume
  • A cover letter explaining why you believe you are the right fit for Purradise Cat Care and how your experience, leadership style, and approach align with our clinic's needs and team.

Your cover letter is an important part of the application process. We're looking for candidates who have taken the time to understand our practice and can clearly articulate how they will contribute to our mission of providing exceptional feline care while supporting a healthy, high-performing team.

We look forward to meeting professionals who are passionate about leadership, operational excellence, and creating an exceptional experience for our cats, clients, and team members.
