Strata-G is seeking an experienced Power Systems/Arc Flash Electrical Engineer with the following:

Summary:

We are looking for a collaborative Power Systems Electrical Engineer to design, maintain, and analyze power distribution systems with a strong focus on SKM-based arc flash hazard assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Modeling: Build facility power models in SKM to perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash safety analyses.
  • Field Data Collection: Lead site walkthroughs, participate in project meetings, and gather physical data from facility electrical systems.
  • Document Review: Extract technical specifications from legacy drawings, field notes, blueprints, and equipment submittals.
  • CAD Collaboration: Partner with drafters to update facility electrical drawings using accurate simulation model data.
  • Engineering Reports: Write, format, and deliver comprehensive technical reports detailing power system performance and safety findings.
  • System Optimization: Identify electrical system deficiencies and recommend actionable engineering solutions to fix them.
  • Safety Compliance: Generate and print equipment safety labels based on compliance and hazard analysis results.

Requirements:

  • An accredited B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years of total experience in electrical systems, operations, or maintenance
  • Ability to utilize software packages to model electrical systems
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC and/or NESC
  • Familiar with electrical drawings (specifically one-lines, power plans, and panel schedules)
