Experienced Carpenters & Experienced Roofers

Cahills Construction, Inc. is looking for experienced, dependable Carpenters and Roofers to join our growing construction team.

We are looking for skilled tradespeople who take pride in their work, understand the importance of showing up and working safely, and want to be part of a company that values quality, honesty, integrity, and teamwork. Carpenters and roofers will occasionally travel regionally to various project sites, contributing to efficient and timely project completion.

Responsibilities

Depending on experience and position, responsibilities may include:

Carpentry

  • Commercial and/or residential carpentry
  • Wood and metal stud framing
  • Interior and exterior finish carpentry
  • Doors, frames, hardware, trim, blocking, and general carpentry
  • Reading plans, drawings, and field measurements
  • Accurately measuring, laying out, cutting, assembling, and installing materials

Roofing

Perform installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of various commercial and residential roofing systems. Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

  • TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) roofing systems
  • EPDM rubber roofing systems
  • PVC roofing systems
  • Modified bitumen roofing
  • Built-Up Roofing (BUR) systems
  • Standing seam metal roofing
  • Exposed-fastener metal roofing systems
  • Architectural and asphalt shingle roofing
  • Low-slope and flat roofing systems
  • Roof coatings and restoration systems
  • Insulation and cover board installation
  • Flashing, counterflashing, coping, edge metal, gutters, and downspouts
  • Roof penetrations, curbs, drains, and related details
  • Tear-off and removal of existing roofing materials
  • Roof repairs, leak investigation, and preventative maintenance
  • Proper installation of underlayment, vapor barriers, insulation, fasteners, adhesives, membranes, and related roofing components
  • Heat-welding roofing membranes and seams where applicable
  • Understanding and following manufacturer installation requirements and specifications

General Field Responsibilities

  • Safely operating hand and power tools
  • Working from ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and elevated work areas
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
  • Following company policies and OSHA safety requirements
  • Properly using required PPE and fall-protection systems
  • Working effectively with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and other members of the field team
  • Protecting completed work and surrounding property
  • Maintaining quality workmanship throughout all phases of installation

Qualifications

Required:

  • Previous professional carpentry and/or roofing experience
  • Strong working knowledge of construction tools and equipment
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, layout, and install materials
  • Ability to perform physically demanding construction work
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable working at heights when required
  • Dependable transportation
  • Ability to report to work consistently and on time
  • Strong attention to workmanship and jobsite safety
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Commercial construction experience
  • Experience with multiple commercial roofing systems
  • Experience reading construction drawings, details, and specifications
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training
  • Fall-protection training
  • Manufacturer roofing certifications
  • Experience operating aerial lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, or other construction equipment
