Job Summary:
The Data Analytics Engineer at PTMA Financial Solutions is a mid-level individual contributor responsible for delivering trusted, business-facing analytics in a U.S.-regulated financial services environment. Working under the direction of senior team members, this role contributes to the definition, modeling, and delivery of enterprise KPIs and reporting, ensuring consistent metric logic and clear insight for decision-makers across Finance, Investments, Client Services, and Operations. This is a hands-on analytics role focused on execution and stakeholder partnership, not a research, data science, or platform engineering position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to PTMA's business-facing analytics, executing on defined metrics, models, and dashboards under the direction of senior team members.
  • Define, document, and govern enterprise KPIs (e.g., AUM, cash flows, liquidity, revenue), ensuring a consistent single source of truth across all reporting.
  • Design and maintain semantic data models and certified datasets in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to support reliable self-service analytics.
  • Build executive-grade dashboards and recurring reports that support leadership decision-making, board materials, and operational reviews.
  • Analyze trends and variances, providing clear business narratives and context behind performance results.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Investments, Client Services, Compliance, and the Data Platform team to resolve data issues and improve reporting quality.
  • Support analytics documentation and data governance practices that align with SEC, FINRA, and internal compliance standards, including audit-ready datasets and access controls.
  • Contribute to practical, governed AI-assisted analytics use cases (e.g., knowledge search or summarization) using approved enterprise data sources, under senior team guidance.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Advanced SQL skills supporting financial or operational reporting use cases.
  • Experience defining, governing, and maintaining enterprise KPIs.
  • Ability to work directly with senior business stakeholders and translate requirements into actionable analytics.
  • Working knowledge of data governance practices, including documentation, access controls, and supporting audit-ready reporting outputs.

Education and Experience:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience delivering business analytics and reporting in Power BI within a production environment, with a track record of working collaboratively on analytics projects.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience working in or closely with U.S.-regulated financial services, investment, or accounting environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or a modern BI and analytics platform.
  • Experience in dbt for data transformation and modeling.
  • Familiarity with investment, asset management, or financial reporting data.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted analytics or enterprise knowledge management (business-focused, not research-oriented).

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time. Lift up to 15 lbs.
The pay range for this role is:
120,000 - 140,000 USD per year (Colorado)
