Facilities Trade Tech/Plumber - Hours are 7am - 3:30pm

 

Job Summary: 

Incumbent works with little supervision helping design, troubleshoot and repair Plumbing systems within the plant, this includes but not limited to process piping, compressed air systems, vacuum systems, steam systems, fixtures for heating & cooling, drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation of plumbing systems
  • Install pipe and fittings on compressed air systems, steam systems, cooling systems, heating systems, process systems
  • Can work with all different types of fittings such as glued, Pro press, compression type, push lock, tubing: plastic or metal, threaded or compression
  • Can work with many different types of piping such as but to limited to: PVC, CPVC, metal threaded, Tubing of all types: plastic, metal and hoses.
  • Participates/contributes to major project designs with the Dept. Manager, Facilities Engineer, Dept. Lead, Engineering consultants, contractors and other resources.
  • Performs other maintenance functions including painting, carpentry, electrical and other such duties as required and requested by the lead supervisor.
  • Manages Project Design and Construction, including supervision of Equipment suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with applicable Safety requirements, SOPs, Project Objectives/Scope of Work, Schedule and Cost.
  • Reading and understanding plumbing and engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Maintain/repairing process piping systems
  • Enter, complete, and maintain work orders in the CMMS database.
  • Must be a strong team player
  • In the emergency on-call rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree with trade school and/or apprenticeship program.

Certifications/Licensing: Master Plumber

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 10 years of directly related experience

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:

  • Working knowledge of water supply systems
  • Working knowledge drainage systems
  • Working Knowledge of all types of piping systems
  • Working knowledge of process piping
  • Working knowledge of sanitary piping systems
  • Working knowledge of steam systems and boilers
  • documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups and employees in the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, metric measurement and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, diagram, or schedule form.
