Portfolio Strategy Manager – Plant Nutrition 

The Portfolio Strategy Manager will lead a category of Elemental Enzymes’ strategy, focusing on planning and execution of key activities. This role involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to tailor marketing strategies and portfolio composition, ensuring effective execution of a portfolio and related go-to-market strategies.

Job Description:

  • Own product portfolio prioritization and valuation, ensuring alignment with company strategy, market opportunities, and expected ROI. 
  • Assess new product and market opportunities based on market size, growth potential, customer needs, competitive landscape, strategic fit, and investment requirements.
  • Lead market intelligence to identify market trends, customer needs, growth opportunities, and changes in the competitive landscape that inform portfolio and go-to-market strategies.
  • Conduct product valuations and business case analyses to support portfolio prioritization and investment decisions. 
  • Develop multi-year portfolio strategies, including product lifecycle management, market expansion, product enhancements, and repositioning. 
  • Develop strategies for complex partner structures and support Global Account Leaders in building multi-year business strategies aligned with portfolio and customer priorities. 
  • Define and influence go-to-market strategies and product positioning in collaboration with Marketing, Commercial, and cross-functional teams. 
  • Coordinate competitive and technical assessments of internal and external products to evaluate product capabilities, differentiation, positioning, and fit within the portfolio.
  • Lead portfolio presentations and strategic recommendations internally and externally to communicate product value, market opportunities, competitive positioning, and priorities.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on assigned markets, applications, competitors, and relevant agronomic practices.
  • Recommend which products and opportunities to prioritize within specific markets based on strategic fit, customer need, market potential, and expected return.
  • Lead and coordinate product launch efforts, ensuring alignment across Marketing, Commercial, Regulatory, and other cross-functional teams to support successful market introduction.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business-related or science-related discipline. 
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B sales, marketing, product development, and/or customer experience teams in agriculture inputs.
  • Experience in project management. 
  • Extensive interpersonal and cross-group/ function collaboration skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10%.

 Physical Demands:

  • Moving: Moving to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

  • Transporting: Moving objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. 
  • Manual Handling: Gripping, grasping, or applying pressure to objects using fingers and palms. 
  • Operating: Using tools and equipment including a work computer and other office devices such as printers, calculators, etc.
  • Repetitive motion: Engaging in recurring movements of the wrists, hands, or fingers, such as typing or assembling components.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Sensory Touch: Assessing the size, shape, texture, or temperature of objects by touch, particularly with fingertips. 
  • Communicating: Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word, including providing detailed or critical instructions clearly, quickly, and accurately. Perceiving sound details at normal speaking levels. Alternative methods of communication can be utilized as necessary.
  • Environmental Exposure: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and operates primarily in an indoor setting.
