Overview

How You Can Make a Difference

Marketplace is a core strategic growth driver for HealthEquity and a foundational pillar of our vision to become a Healthcare Financial Operating System-a platform that empowers members with clarity, confidence, and control over their health and financial decisions.

In this role, you will own the evolution of Marketplace from a feature into a scalable healthcare spend platform that drives member engagement, behavior change, and revenue growth. You will lead efforts to move members beyond simply saving healthcare dollars to actively using them-making informed, confident decisions that improve both their health and financial outcomes.

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, translating strategy into execution while partnering cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, UX, Marketing, Compliance, and Operations. Your work will directly influence how Marketplace drives engagement, increases utilization of healthcare dollars, and contributes to long-term enterprise growth.

This role requires a product leader who can balance execution excellence with strategic thinking, scale a high-growth ecosystem, and drive measurable impact in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment.

Why This Role Matters

Marketplace is a core pillar of HealthEquity's strategy to evolve from a healthcare account administrator into a trusted healthcare financial platform that actively guides member behavior and outcomes.

By delivering a curated ecosystem of healthcare solutions and integrating it seamlessly into the member experience, Marketplace enables members to better use their healthcare dollars-driving engagement, improving outcomes, and unlocking new sources of enterprise value.

This role is critical to scaling Marketplace into a durable, high-impact growth engine for the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own Marketplace as a curated healthcare spend platform, including partner ecosystem, product catalog, and end-to-end member experience
  • Partner with Product Management to define roadmap, success metrics, and release strategies

Marketplace Growth, Engagement & Behavior Change

  • Drive member behavior change by enabling smarter use of healthcare dollars across spend, save, and invest journeys
  • Optimize Marketplace performance across key funnel metrics (discovery, engagement, conversion)
  • Partner with analytics and marketing teams to define KPIs and continuously improve outcomes through experimentation and insights
  • Support Marketplace's role in increasing engagement and long-term member value

Marketplace Platform & Ecosystem Development

  • Expand and optimize the Marketplace ecosystem, including categories, partners, and offerings aligned to evolving member needs
  • Ensure seamless integration of Marketplace into core member journeys and platforms (web and mobile)
  • Partner on personalization and recommendation capabilities to deliver relevant, eligibility-aware experiences

Backlog & Delivery Leadership

  • Own and manage the Marketplace backlog, ensuring alignment to highest-value outcomes and strategic priorities
  • Translate product requirements into well-defined epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and prioritization to support predictable, high-quality delivery
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and performant solutions

Cross-Functional Leadership & Go-To-Market Execution

  • Serve as the primary liaison across Engineering, UX, Marketing, Compliance, Operations, and other stakeholders
  • Drive alignment on priorities, trade-offs, and delivery plans across multiple teams
  • Support end-to-end go-to-market coordination, including product launches, communications, and operational readiness

Customer Experience & Self-Service Enablement

  • Design and deliver solutions that improve self-service capabilities and reduce reliance on support channels
  • Ensure Marketplace experiences are intuitive, accessible, and aligned to delivering a world-class consumer-grade experience

AI-Enabled Product Delivery

  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude) to accelerate product discovery, requirements development, and documentation
  • Apply human-in-the-loop validation to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance of AI-assisted outputs

Team Leadership & Product Excellence

  • Mentor Product Owners and Business Analysts, promoting best practices in backlog management and delivery execution
  • Drive consistency in Agile practices and enable continuous improvement across teams

What You'll Need to Be Successful

  • Ability to operate independently and drive alignment across diverse teams
  • Experienced with AI product management tools, including standard prompt engineering and prototyping

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HSA/FSA or healthcare financial products
  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Aha!, Figma, and product analytics platforms
