Job description

Position

Objective:

  • To become fully trained and able to meet all of AB Mauri requirements of working safely, efficiently and with an attention to detail. Obtain a thorough knowledge of each position and its requirements in the manufacturing, packaging and storage of AB Mauri products.

Production

  • Following all food safety and operating procedures that are outlined by the company’s standards including start-up, changeovers, shutdown, and safe operation of production machinery.
  • Production duties include accurately scaling/staging, loading/mixing, packaging, pallet loading and preparation of finished goods.
  • Ensure critical control points are checked on all required equipment and report findings.
  • Accurately record required information on to production/ quality documentation.
  • Report any mechanical malfunctions to management.
  • Ensure that finished product is properly labeled and is marked with an accurate and legible lot code.
  • Operate sit down and standup forklifts safely.

Sanitation

  • Ensure scheduled sanitation of production area is being conducted including daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.
  • Maintain a clean work area within the department per sanitation standards.
  • Accurately record required information on to appropriate documentation.

Warehouse

  • Ensure FIFO procedures are followed.
  • Practice warehouse management “Best Practices”
  • Load and unload trucks in a timely manner.
  • Visually inspect packaging material, marking each pallet with received date.
  • Receive all raw materials in a safe manner following SOP’s for these procedures.

Safety

  • Safety is mandatory and priority for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Complete all forms, checklists and documentation required by company policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to help endorse and maintain a safe culture at all times.
  • Wear appropriate PPE in designated work areas.

Quality

  • Produce quality products in a manner that meets production targets and complies with the company’s food safety, quality standards and safety guidelines.

A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, fractions and percentages.
  • Written and oral English Communication
  • Knowledge of stand-up forklift and sit-down forklift and scissor lift.
  • Previous knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, HACCP, AIB/ASI standards.
  • Biochemical process and/or Food manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • PC skills in Word, Excel.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and occasionally high precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to allergens. The employee will be required to operate a forklift.
