Job description

PTC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of welded and cold drawn mechanical steel tubing and tubular shapes, plated bar and tubing, and fabricated parts and precision components

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Operates mill components using manual and automatic controls on control panel.

  • Observes threading of strip through mill processes and progressively adjusts tooling and associated mechanicals as required with minimal scrap/waste.
  • Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as they relate to the production and company's objective is required.
  • Produce quality product to meet output cost standards. If output cost standards not achieved, provide root causes of mill process inefficiency to plant manager for corrective action.
  • This position is responsible for maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.
  • Receives instructions and assignments from plant supervision as required.
  • Performs and records all QA check measurements required by the Quality Manual on product being produced.
  • Records production and keeps work area clean.
  • Performs other related work as directed by plant supervision.

The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed. 

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

  • Prior experience working in manufacturing preferred.
  • 2 to 5 Years Hands-On Experience with operating Manufacturing Equipment is a plus.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must have good attendance
  • Must be able to pass physical and drug screen
  • Must be able to work all shifts
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Good math, verbal, mechanical, and analytical skills
  • Must have the ability to work on a team, as well as independently
  • Basic computer and printer use
  • Ability to read a tape measure and be trained on the use of gauges, calipers and other measuring instruments
  • Must be able to work safely, watch out for the safety of others and maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition
  • Physical stamina and strength

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • A valid driver’s license is preferred.
