What You'll Do

The Nurse Manager leads a team of care providers in an assigned area(s) cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect while providing patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs.  Under the manager's leadership patients and their families experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. The Nurse Manager has 24 hour responsibility for overall planning, organization, direction and evaluation of patient care operations for a designated area(s) and is key in operationalizing the health system's mission, values and goals to create an environment that supports the nursing professional practice model. The Nurse Manager is responsible for managing, guiding, coaching and evaluating the work performance of patient care staff in their designated area(s), ensuring ongoing collaboration with other departments/areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care operations. The Nurse Manager is responsible for decision making within the scope of the unit needs, this may be independently or often in collaboration with the division director or physician lead(s). The Nurse Manager has occasional direct patient care and access to confidential employee and organizational information.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Educational Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) - All applicants must meet BSN requirement by being enrolled within 12 months and completed within 36 months
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing
Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: RN - Registered Nurse with Current Ohio License; Department specific certifications. BLS/ACLS within 90 days of hire. Specialty certifications to be completed within 36 months of hire. De-escalation training within 6 months.
Required Experience: Previous Management/Leadership experience; related work experience. Nurse
Manager for psychiatric services requires 4 years of psychiatric nursing experience unless Director/VP has associated experience. Care management nurse manager requires three(3) years of acute hospital case management/utilization review experience.
