Job description

We're looking for experienced Equipment Operators to join our team on a road building and reclamation project in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Primarily operate Excavators (20 - 80 ton) andDozers (D6 - D10)

  • Operate other equipment such as a grader, water truck and roller packer as required

  • Perform excavation, grading, loading, material handling, and earthmoving activities

  • Set up dumps for optimal cycle times, windrow, striping and separating of organized materials for the loading units

  • Perform pre-trip inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities

  • Work collaboratively with crew members to meet production and quality targets

  • Adhere to all Ledcor and project safety policies, procedures, and site requirements

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years' experience operating dozers, excavators and other equipment

  • Previous experience in road building, reclamation work or mining are highly preferred

  • Experience using GPS machine control systems is preferred

  • Fine grading experience is considered an asset

  • Must be available for day / night shifts

  • Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification

  • CSTS 09, Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or OSSA Basic Safety Orientation (BSO)

Work Conditions

  • 14 days on and 7 days off, working 12 hours per day
