Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will maintain daily communication with Quality Control, Department Manager, and other employees in the department to ensure the needs of all internal and external customers as outline by the production schedule are met. The position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.
Your additional responsibilities as the Team Operator will include:
  • Perform cutting operations according to programs and customer specifications
  • Perform quality checks on materials to ensure the product meets customer specifications.
  • Unload finished cut foam material and transport to next production area.
  • Place excess trim material in baler.
  • Maintain communication with line personnel to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Record pertinent information of programs.
  • Operate baler - bale and secure trim material from baler.
  • Cross-train to operate other cutting equipment as needed.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by supervision.

Skills / Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience as a machine operator.
  • Forklift operator certification preferred.
  • Specific on the job training is provided.
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
  • Must have basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Schedule may vary dependent upon project needs.
