Full Stack Developer (Java / Video Systems / Big Data / WebRTC)
Overview
Prometheus is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer with a strong Java background and experience building scalable video processing, analytics, and browser-based applications. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in modern web development, WebRTC, distributed data systems such as Hadoop or OpenSearch, and video analytics frameworks including OpenCV and YOLO. Experience in the physical security or electronic security industry is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java and modern web frameworks. • Build and optimize browser-based applications that integrate real-time video and analytics features. • Develop WebRTC-based video communication, streaming, and low-latency data-sharing solutions. • Create scalable video processing pipelines and integrate computer vision models (OpenCV, YOLO). • Architect, maintain, and optimize distributed data systems (Hadoop, OpenSearch, HDFS, Kafka). • Implement RESTful APIs and microservices to support video processing and analytics workloads. • Develop responsive front-end interfaces for real-time video analytics visualization. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and scale ML and video solutions. • Troubleshoot issues across backend, frontend, and browser runtime environments.
Required Qualifications • Bachelor's of Science in a technical field or 5–7 years equivalent experience. • 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience. • Strong proficiency in Java and backend frameworks such as Spring or Spring Boot. • Expertise in modern web development (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, etc.). • Experience building browser-based applications that handle video or real-time data. • Hands-on experience with WebRTC for real-time media and data streaming. • Background in video development, streaming pipelines, and workflow technologies. • Experience with distributed data platforms such as Hadoop or OpenSearch. • Proficiency with computer vision frameworks (OpenCV) and object detection models (YOLO). • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and scalable backend design. • Familiarity with Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling. • Experience using Maven for build and dependency management. • Understanding of secure development practices including SAST and DAST.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience with GPU-accelerated processing (CUDA, TensorRT). • Knowledge of FFmpeg, video codecs, or streaming protocols (RTSP, HLS). • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Experience in the security industry, including video surveillance or access control systems.
Security Clearance • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
