Position Summary
The Environmental Services (EVS) Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning operations of the airport terminal, operations building, and associated facilities. This position provides leadership, direction, and support to EVS Technicians to ensure all airport areas are maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming condition for passengers, tenants, employees, and visitors. The EVS Lead serves as the primary point of contact for daily cleaning activities, quality assurance inspections, and staff coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of EVS Technicians assigned to the airport terminal, operations building, and associated facilities.
  • Assign work schedules, daily tasks, and cleaning priorities to ensure operational needs are met.
  • Conduct routine inspections of terminal areas, restrooms, offices, break rooms, public spaces, and operational facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, training, and guidance to EVS staff.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of cleaning products, paper goods, and other custodial supplies; communicate replenishment needs to management.
  • Respond promptly to spills, sanitation concerns, passenger complaints, and emergency cleaning requests.
  • Ensure compliance with airport safety regulations, OSHA requirements, environmental policies, and departmental procedures.
  • Train new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment operation, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
  • Complete and maintain records related to inspections, staff assignments, supply usage, and incident reports.
  • Coordinate cleaning activities with airport operations, maintenance personnel, tenants, airlines, and other departments as needed.
  • Assist with hands-on cleaning duties
  • Support special projects, deep-cleaning initiatives, and event preparation activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, teamwork, and customer service excellence.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of custodial, environmental services, or facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass all required airport background checks and security clearances.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial machinery.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as needed.
Working Conditions
Work is performed throughout airport facilities, including passenger terminals, administrative offices, restrooms, operational areas, and exterior spaces. The position may be exposed to noise, cleaning chemicals, moving equipment, and varying environmental conditions.
