Job description

Liquid Asphalt Terminal Operator

We are looking for a Liquid Asphalt Terminal Operator to join our team. If you're interested in joining an established and growing company with opportunities for career advancement, we encourage you to apply and grow with us!

The Liquid Asphalt Terminal Operator plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient flow of materials within the facility while ensuring compliance with certifications and safety standards. This position reports directly to the Terminal Manager and involves daily equipment inspections, minor repairs, and various operational tasks related to liquid asphalt handling.

What you will do:

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adheres to all safety protocols and always wears the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintains accurate records of daily inventory levels in tanks.
  • Collaborates with the Lab Technician to verify and maintain product certifications.

Material Handling:

  • Executes transfers of liquid asphalt from tank to tank, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Validates load information and safely loads tankers with the appropriate liquid asphalt.
  • Creates detailed and accurate Bill of Ladings (BOL's) and Bituminous Material Test Reports.

Equipment Operations:

  • Conducts daily inspections on equipment, ensuring proper functionality and identifying any issues.
  • Performs minor repairs on equipment as needed to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Railcar Operations:

  • Receives and inspects incoming liquid asphalt railcars, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Safely unloads railcars when necessary, following established procedures.

General Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates professionalism and maintains a positive work demeanor.
  • Possesses reliable transportation for consistent attendance.
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts and weekends as required.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Prior experience in an Asphalt Terminal is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze tasks and prioritize safety in all operations.
  • Works effectively as part of a team or independently as required.
  • Hours: 12:30pm-9:30pm
