Responsibilities

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Project Manager to join a team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation Organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client‑satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts, for project.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement and fabrication / manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
  • Identify project milestones, critical paths, and potential risks, and develop contingency plans to address them.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and communications to keep all parties informed of project progress, changes and issues.
  • Oversee the design, build and install process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards and project timelines.
  • Ensure all installation activities are documented and that as-build drawings are provided.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented throughout the project.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts and present them to senior management as needed.
  • Proactively identify potential project risks and issues and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
  • Implement corrective actions as necessary to keep project on track.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 2 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master’s degree AND 0 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Must have an active US Government clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Must have experience in Project Management methodologies and tools.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and/or Power Point.
  • Ability to travel 50% to support West Coast operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA and Confluence).
  • Certification and/or experience in Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Control Account Manager (CAM).
  • CAM & Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Experience with interfacing with all levels of employees and Leadership.
  • SharePoint experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
