Summary
The Director of Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for managing and improving the day-to-day operations. This role ensures properties run efficiently, teams are supported, and residents receive high-quality service. The Director of Operations translates strategic objectives into operational execution, with a strong focus on property performance, resident experience, regulatory compliance, and team effectiveness.
This position is in-office, full-time, Monday - Friday. 
Duties
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee daily operations across residential property management functions, including leasing, maintenance, resident services, compliance, and regional operations
  • Ensure consistent operational standards, policies, and procedures across all states and property portfolios
  • Drive operational excellence to maximize property performance, occupancy, and resident satisfaction
Strategic Execution & Growth
  • Partner with Executive Management to implement company strategy and long‑term business plans
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives to improve efficiency, technology adoption, and service delivery
  • Help build and refine systems, workflows, and tools to support growth
  • Support acquisitions, transitions, and integration of new properties or markets
People & Organizational Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop senior management and operational teams. 
  • Build a strong performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, succession planning, and leadership development
Financial & Resource Management
  • Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Ensure operational activities align with financial targets and cost controls
  • Improve operational margins through efficiency and optimization initiatives
Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, insurance, and internal policies
  • Address risks or issues quickly and proactively
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready operations
Customer & Stakeholder Focus
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery and customer experience across operations
  • Act as a senior representative of the organization with partners, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Support negotiations and service quality oversight
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 - 8+ years of experience in property management
  • Experience with affordable housing programs and development preferred
  • Experience working in a smaller or fast-growing company environment preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and wear multiple hats
  • Potential travel required
