We are seeking a Director of Learning, Workforce Development & Culture to lead the programs and initiatives that develop our workforce, strengthen leadership capabilities, and build a high-performing culture across the field, shop, and office.
This role is responsible for managing employee learning and development, workforce training, apprenticeship programs, leadership development, performance management processes, and employee engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate understands that training is not simply an HR function. It is a business tool that improves safety, productivity, quality, retention, and project success.
We're looking for a hands-on, innovative professional who can create practical learning solutions, leverage modern training technology, and partner with operational leaders to prepare our workforce for the future.
What You'll Do
Learning & Development
  • Manage and continuously improve the company's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Coordinate, assign, track, and report on required employee training.
  • Develop and deliver learning programs for craft employees, supervisors, managers, and leaders.
  • Create engaging training content using video, microlearning, and mobile-friendly learning tools.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and use data to improve learning outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance training requirements are completed and documented.

Workforce Development
  • Lead apprenticeship, craft training, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Develop career pathways and skill progression programs for employees at all levels.
  • Partner with operations leaders to identify training needs and workforce capability gaps.
  • Support workforce planning and talent pipeline initiatives.
  • Coordinate external training resources, certifications, and development opportunities.

Leadership & Performance Development
  • Support leadership development programs for emerging and established leaders.
  • Facilitate coaching, feedback, and development planning processes.
  • Manage performance review and employee development programs.
  • Help leaders build accountability, communication, and team effectiveness.

Culture & Employee Engagement
  • Support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and retention.
  • Help foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Partner with leaders to improve communication and employee experience.
  • Support onboarding efforts and cultural integration for new employees.

Organizational Effectiveness
  • Facilitate post-project reviews and lessons-learned processes.
  • Analyze workforce and learning data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend programs and initiatives that improve organizational performance and business results.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to operations and executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in learning and development, workforce development, organizational effectiveness, or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Experience developing training programs for field and/or skilled trade workforces.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success using video-based learning, microlearning, and other modern training methods.
  • Construction, industrial, manufacturing, or skilled trades experience strongly preferred.
