Your Role

The Learning & Development Specialist conducts and facilitates training courses for employees and business partners. This role coordinates and implements training programs for participants across the organization, including instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training. The L&D Specialist promotes a learning environment that supports information sharing, identifies training gaps, partners with Green Dot subject-matter experts, and contributes to the development of business solutions. This role is also responsible for ensuring each class has the required system access and technology needed to begin training.


Key Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and administer impactful instructor-led and e-learning courses using adult learning methodology.
    • Provide train-the-trainer support, including design, facilitation, and consultation.
    • Serve as a subject-matter expert in adult learning theory, innovative learning methodologies and technologies, and training evaluation methods.
    • Lead companywide employee engagement survey activities, including analytics and action planning.
    • Create, organize, plan, and deliver onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees.
    • Present training and development programs using various formats, including group discussion, lecture, online courses, knowledge-bank articles, simulations, and videos.
    • Partner with other departments to coordinate and guide planning and delivery of essential job-skills training.
    • Act as a liaison and build relationships with site partners to recommend appropriate training courses, curriculum, and delivery methods.
    • Analyze, design, develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate training materials and programs.

About You

For you to become a successful candidate for this role:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, plus 2+ years of relevant experience in a learning organization, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design, and a variety of learning methodologies, including practical experience and highly developed skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and e-learning tools such as Articulate, Salesforce, Captivate, and Camtasia.
    • Experience with learning management systems such as SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, and ISOTrain.
