The Canadian Brewhouse

Edmonton, AB โ€ข On-site

CA$65K - CA$80K/yr

Full-time

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

Are you ready to join the fastest growing hospitality and retail organization in Canada?

The Canadian Brewhouse is a proud Canadian owned and operated business headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. We have over 100 locations that span across seven different brands, excelling in hospitality and premium retail. Our purpose is to Be the Place People Want to Be and we deliver this by providing innovative experiences for our guests, customers and supporting the communities we work and live in.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Manager of Learning and Development for a centralized corporate role dedicated to the strategic oversight and implementation of learning and development across all platforms. This role will conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify performance gaps, while overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of all training materials and digital learning platforms. Finally, this role will ensure that all stakeholders receive regular comprehensive reports on their respective platformโ€™s training readiness.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education, Training, Human Resources or a related field (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Training or HR-related role
  • Experience working in Hospitality and Retail environments
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools and technologies. (Learning Management Systems)
  • Knowledge of competency-based training and performance management.
  • Working knowledge of project management principles.
  • Ability to assess training needs.
  • Technical experience in data analytics and reporting

What will you be doing?
As our Manager of Learning and Development, you will be the ultimate architect behind what makes our championship-quality teams. You donโ€™t just watch from the sidelines; youโ€™re the one designing the playbooks that help every team memberโ€”from our Corporate Office pros to our PG 'Eh golf enthusiastsโ€”level up their game.

The Strategy & The Playbook
Youโ€™ll be responsible for the continuous evolution of our internal Career Paths and Manager-in-Training (MIT) programs. Think of yourself as the scout looking for future MVPs; youโ€™ll create structured learning paths and training calendars, ensuring that no one is left on the bench.

Game-Day Execution
Consistency is key to a winning streak. Youโ€™ll ensure that whether a guest walks into a "Brewhouse" in Kelowna or a "Banquet" in Edmonton, they receive the same legendary experience. This means managing the rollout of new materials, processes, and systems with consistency and precision. Youโ€™ll accomplish this by working with our in-house industry pros to develop specialized training modules and materials.

The Stats & The Tech
Every great coach needs a scoreboard. Youโ€™ll serve as the Head Coach on our learning platforms and related tools, keeping the tech running smoothly, fixing bugs, and managing user access so the team can focus on their training. Youโ€™ll also be our lead training analyst, providing stakeholders with regular reports and dashboards. If a certain region or brand is lagging in the standings (compliance or training-wise), youโ€™ll be the one to spot it and make sure right people hear about it.

The Post-Game Review
We believe in continuous improvement. Youโ€™ll implement post-training surveys and assessments to see whatโ€™s landing and whatโ€™s fumbling. By listening to employee feedback, youโ€™ll iterate on our materials to ensure our training is always playoff quality.

What we offer?

  • Competitive total rewards package commensurate on experience
  • Perks and incentives driven by performance
  • Discount program across all brands
  • Growth opportunities and career development
  • An energizing and team-driven environment!

This role is primarily in-office, based in Edmonton, AB (1112 95th Street SW), with the understanding that occasional travel may be needed to deliver on business needs.

The Canadian Brewhouse is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply and join our team.
