Job description

Enrollment Coordinator

The Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for supporting the overall management of student enrollment and ensuring Freedom Preparatory Academy (FPA) is meeting all local, state, and federal regulations. The Coordinator will monitor the student registration progress, support prospective families in the enrollment process, and serve as an active member of the student recruitment team. The Enrollment Coordinator will report to the Manager of Enrollment & Community Engagement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support staff, parents, and students with accessing and navigating the student enrollment system.
  • Coordinate and facilitate annual parent, student, and teacher surveys.
  • Execute the timeline for the year's application/lottery process with direction from the Manager of Enrollment and Community Engagement.
  • Support the management of the enrollment and application processes, the marketing of FPA to the local community, and the withdrawal process.
  • Complete the annual onboarding for all new and returning students/families including paperwork assistance, providing information about our schools, and providing information based on inquiries from families and community stakeholders.
  • Effectively work in PowerSchool to provide enrollment/retention updates to the Manager of Enrollment and Community Engagement.
  • Support school-based operations teams with updating student documents, fulfilling records requests, and onsite family/community engagement activities.
  • Organize and facilitate quarterly parent and family engagement activities.
  • Provide updates to the marketing team for information to be posted on the school website and social media platforms.
  • Attend trainings as required by FPA, MSCS, and the TN Dept. of Education.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma and 1-2 years of experience working in enrollment management, student recruitment, as a school office manager or similar position.
  • A Bachelor's degree and Experience working in a K-12 charter school environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency using PowerSchool, SchoolMint, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
  • Experience in school operations at a non-profit organization, or public, private, or charter school.
  • Experience with working in under-resourced communities serving families and/or students.
  • Motivated team player who is committed to the Freedom Preparatory standard of excellence.
  • Detail-driven work style with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and lead by example in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
  • Self-starter who is able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; pleasant demeanor on the phone and in person.
  • A strong commitment to supporting educators and the overall mission of Freedom Preparatory Academy.
