Job description


Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Environmental Services, ensuring and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and consistency throughout all areas of the hospital.


Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all constituents including administration, team members, providers, patients and vendors.
  • Identify cost effective systems needed to support the Environmental Services department at the facility.
  • Responsible for conducting required one-on-one training using approved techniques, procedures and educational materials in the coaching process.
  • Monitor all employees to evaluate team member performance including technical skills, cleaning and maintenance of hard surface floors, carpeting, walls, windows, stairwells, elevators, automatic door tracks and baseboards.
  • Proactively identify and prioritize areas that need environmental services attention.
  • Responsible for meeting all goals related to Orlando Health strategic pillars, including but not limited to, budget, customer experience, quality, and team member engagement.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of and lead projects utilizing necessary equipment.
  • Advise administration, supervisory staff, peer groups and team members as to the proper interpretation of various Environmental Health, Safety and Environment of Care policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Act as a resource and role model for the team.
  • Evaluate the performance of team members reporting to the position based on organizational, departmental, personal goals and objectives.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of computer systems to include Microsoft Office Suite, Bed Management System, Timekeeping System, or other related computer systems used in the daily functions of the department.
  • Adheres to all Standards of Precaution, MSDS and Hand Hygiene directives.
  • Capable of completing Patient room cleaning processes utilizing the 7-step cleaning method when functioning and performing Environmental Housekeeper duties.
  • Responsible for coordinating the removal of regular, recycled and bio-medical waste.
  • Must complete all mandatory training as designated and required. Attendance at in-service as required.
  • Participates in departmental quality assurance and improvement activities as appropriate.
  • Must be able to maintain productivity and volume standards established for the assigned facility.
  • Keeps current with all policies and procedures of the hospital and the department.
  • Willing to participate in other related duties not directly assigned.

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Five (5) years of Environmental Services Leadership experience, preferably in Healthcare.
