Job description

MTEA is currently seeking to fill the position of General Manager of Operations at its Franklin, Indiana office.
The General Manager of Operations, you will drive MTEA's day-to-day strategic vision. They will lead the Quality, Production, Production Engineering/Production Maintenance/Facility Maintenance, Production Control and Purchasing departments (hereinafter 5 departments).The GM of Operation will optimize operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and scale performance. In this role, they will champion MTEA's mission and goals, by ensuring strict compliance, and support the Vice President with leveraging financial and operational metrics to maximize the organization goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish key performance objectives and oversee the performance management of department leaders in 5 departments.
Collaborate with department managers to drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.
Oversee the implement, and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
Partner with manager to achieve both short-term and long-term strategic operational goals.
Lead and oversee major operational projects, providing regular updates and performance reports to Turbo VP.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Guide and support departmental goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor, analyze, and report operational performance metrics to the VP.
Develop, manage, and control departmental budgets for 5 departments.
Lead operational and develop policy and process improvement initiatives.
Oversee employee training and development and competency of workforce in 5 departments.
Participate in and support IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and other applicable audits, ensuring ongoing compliance and certification requirements.
Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods in accordance with management directives and business requirements.
Work closely with IT to maintain ERP system's operational effectiveness and data integrity.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide leadership development for managers within 5 departments.
Address operational challenges and implement effective solutions to support business continuity and performance objectives.
Travel as required to support business operations, customer needs, and organizational initiatives.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • At least 10 years of managerial experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in manufacturing activities at Tier I automotive level
  • Experience in ERP systems and maintenance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) across all levels in a Global Company environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AIAG Auto guidelines.
