Position Description
Job Title: CAD Technician
Reports To: Survey Manager
Job Overview: Assist in gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in estimating and operations for one or more discipline areas.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Generate cut/fill quantities for earthwork projects.
Generate cut/fill tick maps and cross-sections from bid drawings.
Design and quantify waste and borrow sites.
Perform general and earthwork quantity take-off.
Prepare pricing for bid components as directed by Chief Estimator.
Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating or project folders.
Prepare machine control files for Operations team after successful bids.
Prepare progress and final as-built drawings with the Operations team.
Coordinate regularly with Estimating and Operations/Survey teams.
Perform additional assignments as directed by Management.
Position Requirements
    • Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:
    • Associate's degree in a relevant field like computer-aided design (CAD), drafting, or engineering technology; or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
    • At least five (5) years of field experience and three (3) years of relevant work experience preferred.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Trimble Business Center.
