Job Summary

The Business Technology Senior Manager leads the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing support of complex enterprise technology platforms that support critical business operations within the Enterprise Servicing domain. This role requires advanced knowledge of enterprise application development, critical systems support, large-scale technology program delivery, and production risk management. The incumbent is responsible for developing our technology roadmaps, directing multi-year initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architectural standards, and overseeing the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of interrelated platforms and critical applications.

Technology Strategy & Leadership

Essential Functions

  • Manages a technology portfolio of greater complexity and breadth that requires frequent interaction and collaboration across several groups and technologies and generally includes 1 or more critical applications.
  • Utilize technology expertise, current industry knowledge and best practices, thought leadership and effective business partnerships to build, advocate for and maintain the technology strategy for one or more lines of business that delivers the business' strategic objectives and aligns to the enterprise's architectural standards. Brings emerging technologies and methodologies into the organization to assess potential and use cases. Demonstrates thought leadership and continuous learning.
  • Lead the implementation of one or more technology programs, some of which may span several years and may include obtaining senior-level (and sometimes executive level) sponsorship and steering committee approval; from the development and configuration of application(s), to testing and implementation; delivers in alignment with the applicable measures of success and milestones and management methodology; escalates risk/concerns appropriately and leads with corrective/mitigating actions; communicates appropriate updates on work progression.
  • Oversee the management of 24/7 production support of applications including vulnerability remediation and risk management to corporate SLAs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IBM BAW platform and underlying WebSphere technologies, in a hybrid environment with modern Java and React
  • Manage, develop and ensure the engagement and effective execution of multiple delivery and support squads which may include business analysts, project managers and/or scrum masters, engineers, developers, external resources and vendors against line of business or functional technology deliverables. Emerging as a leader for attracting and developing internal and external talent.


Education & Work Experience

  • Master's Degree in a technology field plus 3 years of professional experience OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology field plus 7 years of progressive professional experience in enterprise application development or critical systems support (required)

  • Ability to advise on the development and delivery of new and enhanced business applications.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise application technologies, architecture standards, and emerging technology trends, with the ability to apply them to complex business and operational needs.
  • Extensive experience managing projects using agile and waterfall methods, including planning, execution, governance, risk management, and cross-functional resource coordination.
  • Strategic thinker who can focus on the big picture and identify the key factors for success.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and introduce ideas that improve organizational performance.

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to align stakeholders around shared goals and priorities.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to shape decisions across teams and leadership levels.
  • Sound decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze situations and make informed, effective choices.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and manage effective teams.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $116,000.00 - $216,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
