Job description

Application Development Team Lead
Delivering growth for marketers is what NaviStone is all about. For B2C brands in considered-purchase verticals, we deliver proven, time-tested results. The NaviStone platform empowers marketers by finding, activating, and converting lucrative audiences, with incredible impact!
The Role
As an Application Development Team Lead, you will guide a team of application engineers building NaviStone's platform in TypeScript, React, and Node.js, while staying hands-on with front-end and back-end development yourself. You'll own how your team works, strengthening agile practices, improving cycle time, and partnering closely with product and stakeholders to ship the right things well.
What You'll Do
  • You will lead a team of application engineers while staying hands-on with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, writing and reviewing code and setting the bar for quality, testing, and RESTful API design across synchronous and asynchronous services.
  • You will own how your team works, running agile ceremonies, improving cycle time, removing blockers, and tightening the path from idea to production.
  • You will manage your team's people side, including hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, feedback, and mentoring, and support each engineer's growth.
  • You will partner with product managers and stakeholders to shape a realistic roadmap, and represent your team's progress and risks to engineering leadership.
  • You will push the team forward on agentic engineering practices, building the team's skills with AI-assisted and agentic development tools.
  • You will continuously look for ways to use AI tools more efficiently and effectively, increasing your team's velocity and quality.
What You Will Need to Succeed
  • You have led, mentored, or managed engineers before, whether as a team lead, tech lead, or engineering manager, and know how to coach and grow a team.
  • You have strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js across the full stack, and understand best practices for RESTful API design, both synchronous and asynchronous.
  • You have worked on agile development teams and have a track record of improving how a team ships, whether that's cycle time, predictability, or process friction.
  • You are product-minded and communicate clearly with product managers, stakeholders, and non-technical audiences.
  • You can balance hands-on coding with the people and process work of leading a team, and prioritize across your roadmap, technical debt, and production support.
  • Experience with data pipelines, medallion architecture, Snowflake, or BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus but not required.
Location
Cincinnati, OH in Over-the-Rhine
Hybrid role, in office 2 days per week
