Job description

The Academic Scheduler will be responsible for the publishing of all academic course schedules online and on campus. This position works closely with the Registrar, Academic Advisors, Deans, and Vice President of Academic Affairs staff to ensure course schedules are developed according to student curricular needs. The Academic Scheduler provides oversight, monitoring and configuration of all academic scheduling data for each department and campus. The Academic Scheduler is required to have proficiency with scheduling software, the university's Student Information System, the university's Learning Management System, and with other applications such as Office products, especially Excel. The Academic Scheduler must also have excellent communication and project management and multitask skills to manage and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, and maintain the schedule of classes each term, both for online division and ground campus locations.
  • Consult with Deans and Academic Advisors and Registrars regarding courses and classroom scheduling.
  • Manage registration and monitors course/section enrollments and alters/adds/closes sections as needed.
  • Monitor related computer information systems and communicate changes, conflicts, and resolutions to campus academic teams.
  • Resolves specific student enrollment problems during registration period
  • Prepare reports for each campus and updates to the Vice President of Academic Affairs staff on progress with course scheduling, software issues, and process gaps or opportunities for systems improvement.
  • Monitor enrollment and update schedules for newly enrolled or withdrawn students
  • Maintain currency and training with all university information systems such as scheduling software, LMS, SIS, and other associated applications.
  • Monitor enrollment and efficiency of scheduling.
  • Assist with oversight of campus faculty assignments and payroll budgets.
  • Advise the academic and curricular teams of any issues with course sequencing, content, and associated matters.
  • Attend and assist in coordinating or delivering training on academic schedules, curriculum, student issues, best practices and faculty issues related to scheduling and credentialing.
  • Prepare annual reports of schedules year over year and project future projects.
  • Assist with and participate in University-wide events such as graduation and Faculty Convocation.
  • Review and update job description.
  • Special projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required. 1 year of administrative and/or customer service experience.
