Job description

Title: Structural Engineer
Location: Cleveland, OH
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $110,000 - $120,000

Position Overview:
As an experienced Structural Engineer, you will be working with a team of engineers, architects, and
designers to execute projects in all areas of structural engineering including conceptual design to
installation engineering services, estimating, equipment specification, detailed design, equipment
inspection, field installation, and start-ups inclusive of client interaction.

Job Responsibilities:
• Design building retrofits, pipe racks and process structures.
• Develop foundation design in concrete and/or steel.
• Perform seismic analysis, wind loads.
• Perform code analysis, structural evaluations, reports, and inspections.
• Interpret local building/zoning codes and review plans. Provide construction observation services
on roadway, water, sewer, and drainage improvement projects.
• Develop alternatives to a project that brings value to the client.
• Comply with all applicable standards and industry codes.
• Lead a structural project team in the planning, scheduling, engineering, and design execution of
the projects from start to finish.
o Determine the structural scope for a project, manage schedule, budgets, maintain
changes and effectively communicate changes to the team.
o Interact with the client; attend client meetings and internal team meetings.
o Assist with man hour estimations of potential projects.
o Mentor Junior Engineers
Required Qualifications:
• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, Master of Engineering preferred with a minimum of 10 years’
experience needed in the oil refinery, power plant and/or steel manufacturing industries
required. IN/IL/OH PE licenses required and SE license preferred.
• Conversant in use of computer programs such as Excel, Math Cad, Staad Pro and Risa.
• Conversant in use of building codes such as IBC, ACI 318, AISC and ASCE7.
• Ability to work in the field.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be detail orientated.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with other team
members and prepare reports.
• To perform as a lead, must possess the ability to lead a group of engineers and designers.
Communicate effectively with the client and the team. Manage hours and deliverables.
