Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials to help physicians diagnose and treat cardiac conditions. Your expertise will contribute to accurate patient assessments, ensuring high-quality care and precise medical documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong patient service skills, critical care experience, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) management. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer radioactive tracers safely, following all radiation safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images for analysis by physicians.
  • Assist in patient preparation, including explaining procedures, positioning patients correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
  • Monitor patient condition during procedures, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, including procedure reports, patient histories, and radiation exposure logs within electronic health records (EHR).
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care during diagnostic procedures.
  • Ensure manual handling safety standards are met when moving or positioning patients.
  • Stay current with advancements in diagnostic radiology techniques and participate in ongoing health education initiatives to enhance professional skills.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in nuclear medicine technology or related fields such as diagnostic radiology or acute care settings.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, blood sampling techniques, and medical documentation standards.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently.
  • Strong client communication skills with a focus on delivering exceptional patient service and education.
  • Ability to handle manual tasks safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines and infection control protocols.
  • Prior clinic experience, especially in cardiology environments, is highly desirable.
  • Critical care experience is a plus, demonstrating the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations involving patient condition reporting or emergency interventions.
