Role: Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer
Location: Omaha, NE (Onsite)
100% onsite
Client: LTTS
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen (USC) or Green Card (GC) holders only
Bill Rate: $50/ hour on w2
Requirement Type: Contractual
Contract Duration: 12 months and it can extend
Job Description:
Shift:
• 2nd Shift: 3:15 PM - 11:15 PM CDT
• 3rd Shift: 11:15 PM - 7:15 AM CDT
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled NOC Engineer to monitor, support, and maintain mission-critical
network and telecommunications infrastructure. The role involves network monitoring, incident
management, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and ensuring high system availability.
Experience with telecom networks, operational technology (OT), and railway communications
environments is highly desirable.
Required Experience & Skills
• 3+ years of experience in NOC, Network Operations, Telecom, ISP, or Network Support
Environments
• Strong knowledge of:
o TCP/IP
o Routing & Switching
o VLANs
o DNS/DHCP
o VPNs
o Network Monitoring Tools
• Hands-on troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN connectivity
• Experience supporting Telecom Carrier, ISP, or Enterprise Networks
• Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
• Understanding of Incident Management, Problem Management, and Root Cause
Analysis
• Strong communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and support enterprise and OT network infrastructure
• Perform network fault detection, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
• Support microwave radio communication and backhaul systems
• Coordinate with telecom vendors, ISPs, and third-party providers
• Manage incidents, escalations, and SLA-driven service restoration
• Support Linux-based systems and applications
• Execute maintenance activities, upgrades, and configuration changes
• Create incident reports and RCA documentation
• Participate in shift-based and on-call operations
• Experience in railway, transportation, or critical infrastructure environments
• Knowledge of:
o Positive Train Control (PTC)
o Centralized Traffic Control (CTC)
o Rail Communication Networks
o SCADA and OT environments
• Experience with SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar tools
Certifications:
o CCNA / CCNP
o CompTIA Network+
o RHCSA / LPIC / Linux+
