Job description

Pitt Technology Group is seeking candidates for the position of Network/Systems Administrator. This role works within a team to support a wide range of scenarios and technologies including network troubleshooting, server and workstation support, end user assistance, software deployment, project management and consulting. PTG’s clients have diverse technology requirements and business needs. Our team works to understand those needs to deliver customized solutions and support, helping clients get the best value from their technology. PTG employees enjoy flexible schedules, remote work, and multiple shift options, depending on position

Primary job duties
  • Respond to incoming requests and coordinate with managed IT clients to address their needs via remote access or on-site assistance
  • Build relationships with clients to understand business goals and proactively recommend solutions
  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 and other business applications
  • Install and manage network infrastructure including firewalls, switching, and Wi-Fi
  • Deploy and support user equipment including Windows desktops, laptops, VOIP phones and mobile devices
  • Optimize and monitor core IT infrastructure including physical and virtual servers and storage
Qualified candidates possess skills and experience in several of the following areas
  • Recent success working in an IT managed service provider environment
  • End user support via phone, in-person, and remote access tools
  • Windows workstation deployment, support, and maintenance
  • Server virtualization and maintenance (VMware or Hyper‑V)
  • Windows server management including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, print server, file server etc.
  • Network troubleshooting related to IP addressing, DHCP, VLANs, etc.
  • Security optimization using network firewalls and enterprise anti-virus solutions
  • Wireless network infrastructure deployment and support
  • Troubleshooting common business applications including Microsoft Office Suite, web browsers, QuickBooks, cloud-based apps, etc.
  • Supporting connectivity of remote sites and locations using client or site-to-site VPN
  • Deploying, configuring and supporting IP phone systems
  • Managing business use of mobile devices including Android and iOS phones and tablets
